Religious Education at IHM

Faith Formation for all

The IHM Religious Education Program offers Immaculate Heart of Mary Parishioners a faith formation program for students in Kindergarten to grade 8.

Assisting parents, who are the first teachers of the faith to their children, we seek to offer a course of instruction and formation in which the Catholic children of our parish, attending public or private schools, are able to attend to help them come to know Jesus better in and through the Catholic Church.

The program assists the students in completing their full initiation into the Church with the Sacraments of Confirmation, Eucharist, and Penance. Our aim is to provide a loving and caring Christian atmosphere in which students can encounter Jesus and develop sound, Christ-like attitudes and values.

In response to the diverse needs of today’s families, the IHM Religious Education Program will introduce three distinct formation models beginning in the 2026–2027 year.

Each model faithfully hands on the teachings of the Catholic Church while offering developmentally appropriate formation and flexibility for family life. Although the structure and method of each model vary by grade level, all share the same purpose: to help our children and young people grow in a living relationship with Jesus Christ, deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith, and learn how to live that faith actively within the life of the parish and the wider community.

We are now offering an additional option for families with Students in Grades 4-8

Offering Another Option For Families

GRADES 4-8 | Weekly Sessions on Mondays 5:45 -6:45 PM

After listening to the suggestions shared by families following our initial announcement, we have decided to offer an additional in‑person option for Grades 4–6. These weekly, hour‑long sessions will follow the traditional format in which students receive a grade‑level textbook and are taught by a Catechist, with no online component.

We will also offer sessions for Grades 7 and 8 on Mondays from 5:45–6:45pm, meeting weekly and following the same Monday session schedule as the other grades.
